Undergrad Research Students

The Psychology, Health, and Sexuality (Phase) Laboratory is currently accepting applications for Honours thesis and Directed Studies students for the 2024/2025 academic year. Dr. Bouchard, along with her graduate students, supervise research students for Honours or full-year Directed Studies (e.g., PSYC 349, PSYC 449, PSYC 440). Undergraduate research students gain exposure to sexual and vulvar health research, often with a clinical focus and conducted in collaboration with the BC Centre for Vulvar Health. Please note that only UBC students will be considered for Honours or Directed Studies courses. Directed studies students outside of Psychology are welcome if they are enthusiastic about sexual and vulvar health research.

Honours and Directed Studies students in the Phase Lab tend to work on an individualized research question that fits within Dr. Bouchard’s active research studies. Additionally, students can expect to broadly support lab activities, such as participant recruitment and data collection, creating social media content, attending lab meetings, and collaborating with other members of the Phase Lab. Please note that the lab is located off campus at the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Health Care Centre and Research Pavilion at Vancouver General Hospital. Undergraduate research students are expected to complete some lab tasks on site and others remotely (hybrid work setting).

If you are interested in completing your Honours thesis or a full-year Directed Studies course in the Phase Lab, please complete the application below and email the completed form with a cover letter or writing sample, updated CV (resume), and unofficial transcript to katrina.bouchard@ubc.caPlease use “Honours/DS application 2024/2025” as the subject line.
